Rose Bowl February 25
Be careful what you ask for!
It was a couple of days before the end of 2006. Somewhere close to 11:00 p.m. We were finishing our set at the Universal Bar and Grill when Magic Kramer turned to me and said, “Jeffrey, we need some bigger gigs”. “Like what would you suggest” I countered. “Man if we could play a concert hall rather than bars…it would sound so good…maybe Royce Hall”. “Magic”, I said, “you’re right. Royce Hall…that holds a couple thousand people…Do you think I should call them or just wait for them to call me”? Does anyone detect a note of sarcasm here?
None the less over the next couple days I gave this some serious thought. If you’ve been getting these emails and/or been coming to shows in 2006 you have been introduced to some dive bars that were so low you had to jump up to reach the floor.
Now its New Years Eve and I’m at a party in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. I’ve never been big on resolutions but when the midnight champagne splashed against the back of my throat I looked into the star filled midnight sky and saw myself on a concert stage. “I’m ready.” I said out loud. This got me a dirty look from a girl who appeared to be with someone else. It got me an even dirtier look from the some one else she was with. But I wasn’t talking to her. It was the Universe I was talking to and you better mean business when you are talking to the Universe!
It wasn’t Royce Hall. I didn’t call them. It was the Rose Bowl. Here are the details...

Who are these speakers, celebs and other music groups? I dont know. They wont even tell me. I guess I am the only one who is UNimportant enough to have his name published. If you want to find out you will need to be there or read about it in some trashy tabloid after the fact.
Speaking of "trashy" dont assume that my new found UNimportance has gone to my head. Just to prove that you can take the singer out of the trash but you cant take the trash out of the singer...
Friday, February 23, 2007 9:30 p.m. Jeff Laine will appear at the Riverbottom Bar & Grill in Burbank. Personally I aways preferred a small club to a stadium. In this case the clubs dont come much smaller than the Riverbottom and stadiums dont come much bigger than the Rose Bowl. Take your pick or pick them both.
